One driver dead following Thursday-night collision; alcohol believed to be involved

The Estevan Police Service reported that one driver died following a head-on collision Thursday night.

The driver of the other vehicle remains in hospital.

Police attended the crash on Highway 47, just south of the Highway 18 intersection. Both drivers were injured and taken by ambulance to hospital.

One driver was transported by STARS Air Ambulance to Regina, but ultimately succumbed to their injuries.

Police say that the initial investigation indicates alcohol was involved.

The drivers were the sole occupants of the vehicles. Both vehicles were damaged beyond repair. Police are in the process of notifying the families of those involved.
