The annual OTS Golf Tournament ran from Friday to Sunday at Woodlawn Golf Club, and Chair Tony Sernick said the golfers were not bothered by the heat that is currently gripping southeast Saskatchewan.

"It was good...everybody kept hydrated," Sernick said. "When Mother Nature cooperates and it was 30 degrees every day, little bit of a breeze. People were complaining a little bit about the heat but that's good old Saskatchewan people."

"It didn't deter anybody."

Nolan Rohatyn was this year's 36 hole champion with a score of 70, while Anthony Melle was the runner up one stroke back at 71. Taysen Holt was the 18 hole champion after shooting a 70, while Brad Hannem was the runner up at 72.

"Nolan Rohatyn...a former champion. Apparently it was 2013 the last time he was our champion. He took the title again," Sernick said.

Next up, the OTS has a mixed golf tournament coming up on July 8 at Hidden Valley Golf Course.

Sernick said the men's tournament at Woodlawn typically brings in about $10,000 for the Oilfield Technical Society.

"This is our biggest fundraiser. The golf tournament's kind of our money maker," Sernick said.
