The first-ever American Country Awards honored its inaugural winners
last night from Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena
Carrie Underwood walked away as the evenings big winner, with six trophies,
while Lady A carried home a quartet of ACA prizes.
To determine the contest's winners, fans logged on to www.theacas.com to cast votes
in support of their favorite country music artists. The awards include traditional categories,
as well as previously unrecognized areas of the business such as touring, encompassing
the entire spectrum of country music and bestowing honors that no other awards show has.
