Two young Oxbow residents Terell and Deon Amosah, both under the age of seven have recently been diagnosed with Batten disease, a terminal, rare neurodegenerative disease.

Residents of Oxbow have come together and organized an event for the Amosah family to help raise money to assist the family with all medical and personal costs involved with the disease.

However, Volunteer Shelley Baldwin explains that it's much more than raising money, it's about a community coming together to show support for a family.

The benefit takes place Sunday at the Oxbow Memorial Hall beginning a five o'clock with several auctions and a dance to end the evening.
