Police have captured a man who skipped court while being prosecuted for a laundry list of offences.

Saskatchewan RCMP appealed to the public in their search for Kurt Miller in April, after he failed to attend a court appearance.

And on Wednesday, they announced that Miller was arrested in Edmonton on November 3, following an investigation by Saskatchewan RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team.

Miller, who is from the RM of Glenside, was charged with numerous drug trafficking and firearms offences in 2020. 

A previous release from the RCMP said a traffic stop in Regina on May 14, 2020 resulted in the following charges for the then-39-year-old Miller:

  • CDSA S. 5(2) for trafficking cocaine
  • CDSA S. 5(2) for trafficking methamphetamine
  • Criminal Code S. 355(B) Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5,000
  • Criminal Code S. 88 Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public
  • Criminal Code S. 733.1(1) Breach of Probation

Police searched a rural property in the RM of Glenside, 27 kilometres north of Biggar, the next day as part of their trafficking investigation. The search resulted in the following items being seized.:

  • 1,000 grams of methamphetamine
  • 444 grams of fentanyl, equating to 4,400 single doses
  • 3,035 mL of gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB)
  • 500 alazopram (Xanax) pills
  • 400 tabs of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD)
  • $16,080 in Canadian currency
  • 2 money counters
  • Scales, packaging for drugs
  • 8 cell phones and several computers and tablets

Miller was then additionally charged with:

  • CDSA S. 5(2) Possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, alazopram (Xanax), gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) for the purpose of trafficking
  • Criminal Code S.355 Possessing Proceeds of Crime over $5,000.00
  • 16 Criminal Code charges related to firearms

He's scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on November 23.
