The South East Sun Devils used a balanced offensive attack and solid pitching to beat the Regina Royals 12-3 in the Queen City Monday night, advancing to the semifinals in 17U A softball.

Hadley Gerle threw the full six innings, giving up three runs on seven hits, and recording a strikeout.

She was one of six Sun Devils with multi-hit performances in the single-game first-round series. The squad had 16 hits on the night, including three each from Amryn King and Lauren Nixon.

The Sun Devils added plenty of insurance in the top of the sixth, racking up six runs thanks to RBIs from Gerle, Cydney Stewart, Kristen Carlson, and King.

The Sun Devils play the Lumsden Cubs in the semifinal game Tuesday night in Regina.
