The Saskatchewan Health Authority reported a record 601 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday afternoon, with 87 per cent of those being in unvaccinated people.

Two per cent were partially vaccinated, and 11 per cent were fully vaccinated. 

There were also 10 new deaths, raising the provincial total to 695. That makes 88 deaths during September, or an average of 2.93 per day.

The number of people in hospital increased from 295 to 307, with 72 people in intensive care.

Eight new cases for South East Sub Zone 4 were recorded, as the Estevan area's active count rose to 99.

The entire South East Zone had 43 new cases, raising its active count to 309.
