Environment Canada says rain and cooler temperatures will be arriving in the Estevan area within the next few days.

Meteorologist Terri Lang says a low pressure system from the United States is expected to come through this weekend, but that most of the rain might get pushed farther east into Manitoba and miss Estevan.

"So the province might actually escape it," Lang said. "But there's another weather system coming through middle of next week which certainly looks like it's on par to give some rain to much of southeastern Saskatchewan."

"Overall the moisture is actually quite welcome," she continued. "It's been so dry for so long...I think the streams need the moisture and the fields need the moisture."

Lang added that temperatures are finally starting to cool down closer to seasonal averages.

"The weather pattern is shifting to a cooler pattern," she said. "I think we've been a little bit spoiled with the temperatures that we've had."
