RCMP and community members are searching for a missing five-year-old boy last seen yesterday afternoon on the Red Earth Cree Nation in northeastern Saskatchewan.

Frank Young is described as being four feet tall, weighing about 66 pounds, and having black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing rubber boots, green pajamas, and a navy-blue jacket.

Mounties say there are weather concerns, including the possibility of snow, wind, and low temperatures.

“It’s cold and snowy and this is a very young child, so we are very concerned. The Saskatchewan RCMP and partner agencies, together with the local community, continue to tirelessly search for Frank,” says Sgt. Richard Tonge of the Carrot River RCMP.

“We are searching in the community, where Frank was last seen yesterday, including a large rural area outside of the community, which includes heavily treed areas as well as bodies of water. Efforts include using everything from all-terrain vehicles and boats to thermal imaging, on-foot grid searches and more.”

RCMP said they were also planning to perform an aerial search with a plane equipped with a thermal camera, later Thursday.

Door-to-door inquiries at residences continue to be conducted and Frank has not been located.

Investigation to date does not indicate an abduction has occurred and the criteria for an Amber Alert have not been met.

Anyone with information on Frank Young’s whereabouts should call Carrot River RCMP at 306-768-1200.
