A Regina man who plead guilty to child pornography charges in June of last year has now been declared a long-term offender.

Fifty-year-old James Stuart Millie was arrested in November of 2019 after the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit received a complaint about uploads of child pornography to a website. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Millie, and he was charged with possession, making available and accessing child pornography. He had been arrested on similar charges in 2008.

After pleading guilty to the charges last June, a long-term offender hearing was held for Millie at the Court of Queen’s Bench in Regina in April. During the appearance, he was sentenced to six years in presence, with 30 months credit for time served. The sentence included 48 months for possessing child pornography, 24 months for making the material available and 24 months, served concurrently, for accessing the material
