More than 50 students from France will be coming to Saskatchewan this summer to experience Canadian culture.

It's part of a program from Nacel Canada that also aims to help the students improve on their English speaking skills.

The students are aged 14-17. Nacel Canada's Saskatchewan Coordinator Debbie Ackerman said she's still looking for host families for August.

"I'm needing five families for August," Ackerman said. "They arrive July 31 until August 27. So the family would come and get them at the airport and return them back to the airport when they leave. So if anyone is interested I would really like to talk to them. It's a great experience."

"What we're looking for is host families that can host them for the four weeks, show them around, do things with them, and just give them a Canadian culture experience."

Host families can be located anywhere in Saskatchewan. Ackerman said it's a rewarding experience for both the students and families.

"It's amazing how these kids remain friends with their host family," she said. It's a great, great experience on both ends. At the airport when they're leaving, everybody's crying. It's just a really great program."

If you are interested in becoming a host family you can contact Ackerman at 306-737-2054 or at debackerman@sasktel.net

Ackerman added she's still looking for one family for July immediately.

Families are compensated up to $500.
