NORTH PORTAL, Sask. – Local musical duo Last Birds, consisting of Mike Davis and Lindsay Arnold, made a significant mark at the Saskatchewan Country Music Association (SCMA) awards this year. The talented pair were nominated for three awards and took home the prestigious Alternative Country Album of the Year for their album "Endless Turn of Day Into Night."

The awards ceremony, held on Saturday, June 22, celebrated the province's top country music talents. For Last Birds, being nominated alongside other notable Saskatchewan artists was an honour in itself. Reflecting on their nominations and win, Davis said, “It's really nice to even just be nominated alongside such other great Saskatchewan talent, and taking home a win is just icing on the cake really.”

The reception to their album has been overwhelmingly positive. Arnold shared her excitement, stating, “It's been a really great reception and in fact, we know we've gained some new listeners. So we're really happy with how this album turned out and the reception.”

In addition to celebrating their award win, Last Birds are gearing up for an upcoming performance at the Coal Creek Festival in Bienfait. This event, set in the quaint town just outside of Estevan, promises to be a highlight of the summer. Arnold expressed her enthusiasm for the festival, saying, “Yeah, there's a great mix of musical talent that's going to be there. I'm really, really excited not just to play, but to actually stay and listen to all the acts. It's going to be a great show.”

For those looking to explore Last Birds’ music further, the duo can be found on all major streaming platforms. They maintain an active presence on social media as well. “We always appreciate those streams! We are on social media on Instagram and Facebook. So you can find us at Last Birds Music,” Arnold noted.
