Estevan Sharks water polo athletes hit the water for the first tournament action of the season at the Lawson Aquatic Centre in Regina on the weekend.

Estevan athletes competed against players from Weyburn, Regina, and Saskatoon.

The 15U girls won one of four games on Saturday. Mahlyn Bomberak paced the team with eight goals. Ryan Hoeving scored seven. Marlow Molstad netted two in her first bantam tournament. And Jennika Linthicum scored one.

15U boys Keegan Mennie-Kindlein and Malcolm Sherling joined the Regina Armada White team, dropping their four games.

Mennie-Kindlein racked up four goals, and Sherling scored one in his first bantam tournament.

Bomberak swam with the Regina Armada Black team in the open girls division on Sunday (for players older than 15), scoring one goal in two games.

Mennie-Kindlein swam in three games with the open boys on Sunday, helping them tie a pair of contests.
