Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Estevan region.

There is a risk of a severe thunderstorm Monday night with clouds moving in and showers expected to begin as early as 6 p.m.

Strong wind gusts and large hail are possible during the storm, according to Environment Canada. The storm should begin to taper off in the late evening hours.

However, up to 20 millimetres of rain could fall by Tuesday afternoon.
