A lot of southern Saskatchewan is due for 10 to 20 centimetres of snow over the next 24 hours or so.

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the southern strip of the province, from the Alberta border to Estevan. The far southeast is not under the warning, as of 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Though further north, the Moosomin-Grenfell-Kipling-Wawota area falls under the warning.

"Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 20 cm is expected," states the warning.

"Ongoing light snow over southern Saskatchewan will organize and intensify today as a low pressure system develops south of the international border. The bulk of the accumulating snow will fall this afternoon through the overnight hours, with 10 to 20 cm expected across most of the south.

"The snow will taper off Friday morning as the system moves east.

"Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow."
