Southeast College hosted an open house and career fair Wednesday afternoon with 18 booths set up with employers and schools from across the region.

The RCMP, Ministry of Highways, and the City of Estevan were a few of the employers who participated. The University of Regina, Assiniboine Community College, and Lakeland College also took part.

"When you have an open house or career fair, it just makes sense to be promoting other post-secondary institutions or other programs, and other careers, so it's a great partnership for us," said Sheena Onrait, who works in enrollment at the college.

Onrait added that the day is all about exposure.

"I think it's a great opportunity for people to see what kind of job opportunities there are out there, what kind of post-secondary careers they can do, and what kind of options there are going forward," she said.

Onrait said the college started the initiative last year and plans to host it again for years to come.

The college also hosted an innovation conversation Wednesday evening.

A similar open house event is being held at they Weyburn campus on Thursday.
