The Galloway Health Centre in Oxbow has been using its transportation van for some time and thanks to the community a replacement has been received.

The Oxbow Health Centre Auxillary had been fundraising for the new vehicle for multiple years, finally getting enough to make the purchase.

Local members were given a demonstration of the van, along with a tour of what they'd need to know to keep it running for years to come.

Members then went on a tour with the van around the community, showing some of the donors just what their money had gone towards.

We talked with two members of the auxiliary to see just how they were feeling following the purchase:

In total, the van cost the group $141,741.40.

They say their next project is getting some new beds for all 12 of the long-term care residents in Oxbow.
