UPDATE 2: Part of Highway 1 reopened at 10:01 a.m., albeit with travel still not being recommended.

Highway 39 from Estevan to Moose Jaw has improved to completely be listed under winter driving conditions.

UPDATE: As of 6:01 a.m., the travel-not-recommended status for Highway 33 northwest of Stoughton to Sedley was replaced by winter driving conditions.

Loose snow and snow drifts are being reported for that section of road.

Icy highways are making for dicey driving conditions in parts of southern Saskatchewan.

The Highway Hotline says, as of 5 a.m. Wednesday that travel is not recommended for the bulk of the highways around the Regina area, including 33 northwest of Stoughton and 39 northwest of Yellow Grass.

Highway 1 from a little west of Moose Jaw past Swift Current is closed.

Meanwhile, highways closer to Estevan are listed as being in winter-driving condition with some pavement frost.

A freezing rain warning for the Estevan area has been lifted. There is some light snow expected for Wednesday.
