Souris Moose Mountain MP Ed Komarnicki, on behalf of Monte Solberg, the Federal Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, announced funding to an early childhood development project last week that will benefit thousands of children in the southeast.

According to Ruth Barker, the Community Coordinator for the Understanding the Early Years Project, the funding will enable research and community action planning around the needs and strengths of southeast children from birth to six years of age.

She adds that thanks to the Government funding, work will be able to continue for the next two and a half years.

Between 8,000 and 10,000 children will be involved in the project.
