The Violence Intervention Program is hosting an Assertiveness Training Workshop for Women Friday.

According to Laurel Buck, the Assistant Director and Councillor, participants will practice saying no without feeling guilty, communicate more effectively, and better express their feelings in a variety of situations, such as between co-workers, family members, and friends.

She adds that Friday's session is already full, but VIP will be offering another workshop again in the spring.

The Violence Intervention Program is a non-profit community-based organization that provides free, confidential services including counselling, support groups, crisis intervention, and public education.

They also offer a twenty-four hour abuse line at 1.800.214.7083.
