The Estevan Viragos girl's football team kicked off their spring season with a tight, low scoring game against the Moosomin Generals on the weekend.

The Viragos lost 7-0 to the Generals in a game that impressed Viragos Head Coach Mark Tribiger.

"That's amazing...that's the best game that we've seen the Viragos play since the team started," Tribiger said. "The girls were happy with it, the coaches are all happy with it. We can definitely see on the horizon some wins coming up this season and a lot of good games like that."

The Viragos will wrap up their spring season with a rematch against the Generals this Sunday in Estevan at 1 p.m. at Chow Field.

"We're hoping to come out on the other side of it this time," Tribiger said.

The Viragos will start their fall season in August.
