The City of Estevan is moving forward after hearing the public's priorities for the downtown's revitalization.

The next set of public engagement sessions will be held Monday and Tuesday next week.

The initial open house sessions held in late November brought forward a handful of priorities from the business community and the general public.

"The biggest thing is pedestrian walkways," said City Manager Jeff Ward. "What kind of programming should be down there. What kind of amenities should be downtown. Different design elements, such as lighting, parking. All the things that really need to be built out in the full-fledged 3d model design will be discussed at this workshop."

Ward said the introduction sessions run by the City in conjunction with George Harris Collaborative were aimed at gathering general input from the public.

"This really gave them the information they needed to start building out a design and building out some options. This next portion of feedback is going to be more in a workshop format where they're going to have different tools that can be used to identify different options."

The next sessions will be set up in a table format, where people will be grouped together to discuss options.

Tuesday's session is open to the public from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Nicholson Centre. Monday's session is invite-only for the downtown business community.
