Saskatchewan led the country in wholesale trade growth in October, according to numbers from Statistics Canada. Seasonally adjusted, wholesale trade in October was up by 6.8 percent compared to September. The numbers, which were released on Friday, also show Saskatchewan had the second-highest growth year-over-year, going up by 19.7 percent from October of last year.

"These wholesale trade numbers are one more indicator of how our economic recovery is well underway," Trade and Export Development Minister Jeremy Harrison said.  "We have investment flowing into our province, one of the country's lowest unemployment rates, thousands of jobs being added and some of the best trade and export growth in the country, which all highlight the strength of Saskatchewan's economy."

The total value of Saskatchewan’s wholesale trade in October was nearly $2.9 billion.
