A major winter storm is expected throughout southeastern Saskatchewan.

Heavy snow will bring total accumulations of 25 to 50 cm to areas on Saturday as a major colorado low moves through.

A mix of rain and snow tonight will change over to heavy snow on Saturday morning. This snowfall will continue until Sunday morning. Storm-total snowfall accumulations of 25 to 50 cm will fall with local amounts reaching 60 cm or more.

Strong winds gusting 70 to 90 km/h are also likely Saturday into Sunday, giving very poor visibility in blowing snow.

There is also a likelihood of freezing rain this morning and early Saturday morning.

Conditions are expected to improve late Sunday as the low pulls away.

Be prepared for possible power outages.
