SaskPower to host live call-in event focusing on SMRs
SaskPower will be hosting a live call-in event, focusing on getting the opinions of residents in areas that could receive small modular reactors. The interactive call-in event is scheduled for 7-8 PM on Thursday, October 5th. The purpose of the call-in is for Saskatchewan residents to learn about nuclear power, ask questions, and get an update on the SMR development project. All Saskatchewan residents can join online at https://access.live/SaskPower or by calling 877-229-8493 and using the code: 122445. About 30,000 residents (both in and around the two study areas of Elbow and Estevan, and throughout the rest of the province) will also receive an automated phone call this afternoon informing them of the event. These residents will then receive a call between 6:50 and 7 p.m. tomorrow evening to join the conversation. SaskPower says that the event is meant to reach people who aren’t online and don’t have computers, smartphones, or other smart devices.
