One of the top tournaments for junior golfers in Canada has begun in the Energy City.

The Golf Canada Future Links Prairie Championship is being played this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the award-winning TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club in Estevan.

Not only will some of the best young golfers from the prairies be participating, but almost a dozen local athletes will be shooting for top spot.

"The people in Estevan should come on out because there is going to be a lot of great, young talent on display," expressed Amanda Minchin, Head Pro and Junior Golf Instructor at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club.

"Not to mention our tremendous homegrown golfers that will be participating."

There are 10 members of the local golf club and Zachary Hill of Redvers golfing, with a total of 56 golfers competing.

Estevan - Jace Carlisle, Chase Gedak, Jean-Luc Dupuis, Reegan Robinson, Jayden Dudas, Ryan Chernoff, Logan Chernoff, Hudson Chernoff, Drew Fenwick, Kaiden Tuchscherer.
