Football Day in Estevan raised a ton of support for the Estevan Minor Football Association and their activities.

An example of that was the $10,000 dollar donation from Affinity Credit Union to the ECS Elecs parents. They applied for District Council funding from Affinity, and were successful.

"They were successful in their bid not only because it was shown through their bid that they needed upgrading of their equipment, they showed the safety factor, it was well presented and they had a plan," shared Pauline Ziel-Grimsrude, a district council and board member.

"One of the things that we look at is what a group does to help themselves first. With their application, and the fundraisers that they had done, they were one of the ones that we looked at and stood out, and the need was there," added Dennis Bode, another district council member.

Both expressed that it was a great feeling to be able to give back to the community in such a way. Ziel-Grimsrude added that she also has a personal connection and understanding of the cause, as her son played with the Elecs.
