The TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club has a new General Manager, and it's a familiar face. Amanda Michin was introduced on Friday, January 5th as the club's new GM.

"As most people know," shared Minchin, "I've been here a long time. I've been a member here, I grew up playing golf here. I spent my whole PGA of Canada career here."

No doubt her experience with the club will be a great asset.

"I've worked in various departments. I was the assistant golf pro, then the head golf pro and I'm going to keep the head golf duties as well as adding the GM. I think I bring a lot of experience to our facility and obviously very committed to making our facility the best it can be."

Adding the role of GM, Minchin hopes to accomplish a few things at the club.

"I think for the first year, I have been here a long time, but I'm going to get reacquainted with a lot of our business dealings and our sponsorship agreements that we have going on. Make sure that gets taken care of first and foremost. Then we have long-term staff that do a great job, so just building a new network with people."

"We are a very busy club and we have a lot of moving parts so I think just making sure that our day to day operations can flow in a seamless manner which they already do, like I said, with our long-term staff, there's no huge issues there but it will just be making sure that we keep moving forward with the newest technology and the newest business practices that we can."

Minchin added that while last year was a very busy year with the club, she expects this year to be a little slower. However, they still have a few events planned such as the OTS Oilmen's Tournament and the FrameTech Classic held in August.

"This year we will be hosting a MJT Junior Tour event which brings some of the best juniors players in the province. That will be happening in May."
