The Midget AA Estevan Apex Bruins were close, but not close enough as they dropped a pair of one goal decisions over the weekend.

On Saturday against the Regina Vics, it was none other than league leading scorer Jaiden Gervais who would get on the board and give Estevan a 1-0 lead. Late in the first, Regina would knot things up at 1-1 on a power-play marker.

Dawson Schaff gave the Bruins a 2-1 lead early in the second period, only to see the Vics rattle two past Bryson Garton in just under four minutes. Jaiden Gervais would net a short handed goal to tie the game a three a piece heading into the final period.

Regina would break the tie at the 14:04 and hold on to win 4-3.

It would be another tight loss for the Bruins on Sunday afternoon in Estevan during Mike Sarada Memorial Day.

Falling 4-3 to their rival Weyburn Wings, the Bruins now fall to 21-12-2-0 on the season. Currently, Estevan sits in a 4th place tie with the Swift Current Broncos, having one game left on their regular season schedule against the Notre Dame Argos on Friday, February 16th inside Affinity Place at 8:00 p.m.
