The Midget AA Estevan Apex Bruins have been pushed to the brink of elimination, after dropping a 4-2 decision to the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday night.

It was an eventful first period for the two clubs that saw them combine for four goals in the opening frame. The Broncos struck twice in the first seven minutes, before Terran Holzer scored on the power-play for the Bruins. Joey Meredith and Zach Ashworth picked up the helpers on the Bruins first marker.

Minutes after Holzer cut into the Broncos lead, Swift Current would score and take a 3-1 lead into the second period.

After the two clubs skated to a scoreless second period, Triston Sorenson would score mid-way through the third, with Zach Ashworth and Terran Holzer adding the assists. The Broncos would score on the power-play in a penalty filled third period, and that would be all from Swift Current as the win gives them a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series.

The shot clock ended in a deadlock at 29-29, while Estevan finished 1 for 5 on the power-play.

Estevan will have their backs up against the wall on Friday night, with a decisive game three match up set for 8:00 p.m. inside Affinity Place.
