The Estevan Bantam Bruins hit a bump in the road on the weekend with two losses on the road.

On Saturday they paid a visit to the Martensville Mauraders in the Martensville Sports Center. The hosts jumped out to an unreplied 2-0 lead by the end of the first frame. The onslaught continued into the second frame, as the hosts racked up another two goals before Boden Dukart cracked the net for Estevan, followed by Mason Ficther. Martensville added one more in the third to put the final nail in a 5-2 coffin on the Bruins.

The next day, the black and gold headed to Saskatoon to take on the Maniacs. A similar script to the day before soon followed, as the home team scored once in the first frame, and then opened the second with another, before Mason Ficther replied for the Bruins. Blayze Siebert tied it up in the third period, but Saskatoon scored again to seal a 3-2 win.

"We played a couple of pretty skilled teams up there. We definitely had our chance to win the game on Sunday versus the Maniacs. In the game against Martensville, we didn't play up to our abilities, especially in the first period. We got down and that kind of hurt us in the long run," said Head Coach Blaine Chrest.

"We just need to work on playing every shift. With the skill that the teams that we played had, if you took a shift off, the puck was in your net. We have to be able to focus on playing a full sixty minutes, playing every shift and working hard."

The Bruins head to Regina over the weekend for a bantam tournament, before taking on Weyburn on Tuesday.
