Riding a wave of victories all throughout the season, the undefeated Estevan Bantam Voltz surfed their way through the playoffs to a gold medal win on Sunday, 7-2 over the Swift Current Rampage.

"The kids are pretty excited to win the regular season and playoffs, and to do it without a defeat, it's quite an accomplishment for this group of kids," stated team Manager, Blaine Chrest.

"We have a really dedicated group of kids that practice twice a week, and when they come to practice they work hard and work on their skills and teamwork. The biggest thing is that we play really sound defensively, and we have a great goaltender. That all comes in to help us."

Speed has been another asset that works in their favor. According to Chrest, they also seem to have an 'explosive' knack for scoring in bunches at a time.

They'll carry their momentum forward into provincials on July 6-8, where they'll put their tight squad to the test against teams from around Saskatchewan.

"The kids are playing with a lot of confidence right now, and we'll have about four practices before provincials, and we'll get at it on Friday the 6th."
