It will be a busy weekend for barrel racers in the area as the Fountain Tire Barrel X is set to go this Saturday and Sunday.

"It's barrel racing, pole bending," explained Lindsay Collins, one of the organizers of the event, "and a couple of other fun events like bareback barrel racing and we have horses racing against motorbikes."

"We have over 200 entries. We have 8 categories, pee wee, youth, open and select which is 15 years and over, peewees atrre the 10 and under."

"We hoping that people will come and watch and fill up the stands, there is free admission."

There will be plenty of action for the two day event.

"Saturday at about 3, we will be having the bareback barrel racing and the horses against the bikes which is usually a really good crowd-pleaser."

"We'll be doing a Calcutta, we'll auction off the bareback riders and then the barrel racers against the bikers and then whoever buys the winning bareback rider will win half the pot and the same with the barrel racers and the bikers."

Races start on Saturday morning at 9:00 am and Sunday morning at 8:00 am.
