While the chances were slim, the Redvers Rockets made them just a touch slimmer for them to finish first place in the league after their game Tuesday night against the Oxbow Huskies.

Oxbow had the possibility to jump out of the survivor series at the end of the season, but the loss swatted them out of that contention. It didn't help that they only had nine skaters to start and ten when one of their players showed up late. They also dressed backup goaltender Tyler Myers as a forward during the game.

The first period took about three minutes to get the first goal when Dakota Rose found the puck in the slot and ripped it past the blocker of Ethan Veroba, and Rose would add another goal for his team only a few moments later when he scooped up a rebound from behind the net.

Sean Jonassen would add another goal before the halfway mark of the first period before they would add the fourth thanks to an easy tap in goal for Jordan Miller.

After one: 4-0 Redvers

In the second, Remi Lamotte would get a onetimer from the left side of Veroba that he would pot in for the Rockets, and shortly after Austin Dufresne would score his first of the year as an Affiliate Player.

The Huskies would answer when Derek Cooney would bring the puck down the length of the ice before sending a dart passed the glove of Thomas Bauche to score the first for his team.

Back at the other end though, Todd Gervais would score the third of the period to extend the lead to seven, but the Huskies would get an answer.

After that, the Rockets added two more, a breakaway goal from Kevin Mann where he faked out Ethan Veroba towards his forehand and took it to his back, and another tally for Jordan Miller.

After two: 9-1 Redvers

The third period would calm down as the Rockets would only score one goal, their final goal would come from Kenton Miller, the league's leading scorer and a man that usually has his name on the scoresheet earlier in the game, when he tipped in a point shot from Kevin Mann.

The Huskies would have the final tally of the game when Cooney would be sent on the breakaway. His move would fake towards the backhand and head to his forehand, sending the first shot off the pad of Bauche but Cooney would recover his own shot and fire it in.

Final Score: Redvers 10 - 2 Oxbow

In the final twelve seconds, a scary moment on the ice happened when Steven Henderson cut across the ice with the puck for the Huskies and Brady Fidierchuk hit him hard enough to knock his helmet off and looked to make contact with his head. Derek Cooney came to his defence and end up in a scuffle on the ice with Justin Perreaux. Cooney, Perreaux, and Fidierchuk were all escorted off the ice before the puck was dropped, which may result in some suspensions. Henderson got up under his own power after the game.

The Rockets do still have a hope to finish in first, they would need five specific things to happen. For the first three, they'd need to win their remaining three games against Wawota, Midale, and Arcola/Kisbey, and the other two results would need to be for Yellw Grass to lose to Carlyle and Kipling/Windthorst.
