Two games on Friday evening kicked off another exciting weekend of Big Six Hockey.

The Oxbow Huskies hit the road to Wawota for a date with the Flyers, which turned out to be less than ideal for the visitors.

Held scoreless in the the first frame, while Ryan Taylor and Kent Sauter both found the back of the net for Wawota, Oxbow's path started off rough and then got worse. The Flyers put three more pucks past Tyler Myers, to which Derek Cooney was finally able to respond around halfway through the second. Not much changed in the third period, as Bradie Dinwoodie and Taylor Ernst rifled two more into the mesh, as Brycen Odgers added one more tally for Oxbow. The Flyers came away with the 7-2 victory.

The struggling Arcola/Kisbey Combines once again had a rough go of it, this time against the team just above them in the standings, the Carlyle Cougars.

Brent McLean got things started just two minutes in for the Cougars in Carlyle, while his teammates added 6 more goals, all in the first period. That frame was also the only time the Combines were able to score in the game, as Jarod Taylor and Leevi Runge kept it from turning into a shutout. The Cougars added one more in the second and two more in the third to seal the deal on a 10-2 thumping over Arcola.
