Looking at the current standings of the Big Six Hockey League and the standings from the last couple years, you might not think that this team has only had their senior hockey program back in town in the last three seasons. The Yellow Grass Wheat Kings were apart of the Sioux Line Hockey League back in the day before taking a hiatus from senior hockey for over a decade.

We spoke with president of the team and former player Al Whitrow prior to the season about some of the memories he had from his time playing with the team, the rebuilding process of the team, and the reception the community has had since its entry to the Big Six.

Listen in to CJ 1150 for the history report of each away team, which will all be posted here after they are done airing on the radio.
