The Big Six Hockey League was once again in action over the weekend, though this time it was a bit quieter.

Friday saw the Midale Mustangs travel to Carlyle to face the Cougars in what turned out to be a tight match. While the home team quickly opened the scoring in the first period, it was answered less than a minute later by Midale. The 1-1 stalemate held throughout the second frame, and only in the third did Brad Tomiski net a second puck for the visitors, enabling them to come away with a 2-1 win.

While Wawota and Bienfait were both expected to play each other Friday night as well, that game was postponed.

On Saturday, the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings hit the road to Redvers, only to end up being thundered upon by the Rockets. Redvers thrice tossed the puck into the net past goaltender Terrick Wilderman without an answer in the first frame.  In the second, Corey Koski and Troy Miller stepped up the plate for Yellow Grass with a goal each, however, it wasn't long before the home squad hit back with four of their own. The Wheat Kings didnt't give up heading into the third period either, nailing three goals, but Redvers would seal the deal with two more to end things 9-5.

The Carnduff Red Devils and Carlyle Cougars were back in action on Saturday as well at the latter's rink. While the goals were a little more sparse than the action elsewhere, pucks didn't avoid the mesh. Carnduff opened the first period with a goal that would go unanswered until the second, where two more for each side was recorded. The Red Devils would then go on to command the game after that, as they dumped three more past Carlyle netminder Kroise Wilson. The match would end with the scoreboard displaying 6-2 for the visitors.

The action resumes from where it left off on Tuesday, November 28th when Carlyle once again dons their skates, this time to face the Oxbow Huskies. That game can be heard on CJ1150, with the pregame show starting 5 minutes before the 8:00 PM puck drop.
