While their series is tied up at one after two wins on the road, the Redvers Rockets and the Carnduff Red Devils took a break to play some provincial action.

Carnduff in Provincial B

After a first-round win where Carnduff came back from a goal down after game one to get the two-goal lead in game two against Southey and the win in the series, and the Red Devils would advance on to take on the Rocanville Tigers of the Triangle Hockey League.

The Tigers would get home ice advantage in the series, but they wouldn't get a very big jump to start things off at home. Neither would the Red Devils, and the first period and a half would go by and not a single goal would find it's way on to the board. Then, at the 9:53 mark of the period, Carnduff would strike first. Nico Anderson led the team in points in the regular season and he started it off for his team for the one goal lead.

This started a chain of back and forth hockey between the two teams, with the Tigers striking right back two minutes later thanks to a goal from Stephane Robidoux.

The Red Devils would retake the league lead a moment later, their leading scorer in the playoffs Trevor Geiger would score the third goal in three minutes to retake the lead, the lone assist going to Anderson.

The second period scoring would take a break momentarily but would resume for the Tigers with six minutes left when their own leading scorer Ryan Regel would score, a single assist from Ashley Howie. Regel would strike once more before the end of the period to take a 3-2 lead over the Red Devils.

In the third period, things would change a little bit. There would be a fairly quick goal for the Red Devils, another from Geiger and assisted by Anderson. Only two minutes later, the Red Devils would jump back on top when Matthew Audette, who only played two games in the regular season, put his team up by one. Cody Dumaine would shut things down in the rest of the game and that would do it for game one.

Final Score After Game One: Carnduff 4 - 3 Rocanville

Redvers in Provincial C

The Redvers Rockets are in tough as they take on another team from the Triangle Hockey League who also happened to be the reigning Provincial C champions, the Theodore Buffalos. They're also a team that also had a bye through to the second round, meaning they had a little extra rest.

The first period would be a complete offensive battle. Four minutes in, Jeremy Johnson would put the home team up by one. The Rockets would come back down the ice and score twice in the next two minutes, the first from Francis Lamotte with an assist to Brady Gaudet, and the second, a passing play from Koltyn Miller to Kenton Miller and the back of the net on the powerplay, Redvers up 2-1.

The remaining thirteen minutes would start to wind down before another three-goal flurry would start in the final 3:25 of the period. Theodore's Derrick Schwartz would put his name on the scoresheet to tie the game up, and Johnson would add another a minute and a half later to retake the lead, this one on the powerplay as well. The third goal would come from the Rockets again to tie it up, the first of the game for Kevin Mann with assists coming from Kenton Miller and Drew Hoff.

After the first period: 3-3

The second period would start off just as high flying as the previous for the Buffalos when Schwartz would score his second of the game less than a minute in. Another three minutes would pass and Jeremy Johnson would add his third to the back of the net, making it a two-goal game.

The Buffalos would score a third in the first half of the game, Korwin Shewchuk would put one past the Redvers goaltender to make it a 6-3 game. The Rockets would answer the bell however, thanks to the second from Kevin Mann on the powerplay, again assited by Kenton Miller and Drew Hoff.

That would be as close as they'd get, and the Rockets would take a two goal deficit back to Redvers for game two.

Final score after Game 1: Theodore 6 - 4 Redvers

Game two for both teams is Saturday at home for both teams, as well as for the Wawota Flyers, who play at home in provincial D championships. They're down 10-3 against Craik.
