The first round of provincial hockey has wrapped up for the three Big Six teams who entered the tournament this year.

The Big Six still has one team with the chance to raise a provincial banner, while two others have seen their hopes of a championship end early.

The Carnduff Red Devils, Wawota Flyers and Carlyle Cougars all played in a two-game/total-point series in their opening matchup.

PROVINCIAL 'C' - Raymore defeats Wawota 8-6, Wawota eliminated from provincials

Game #1: Raymore wins 4-2 in Wawota - HIGHLIGHTS/RECAP

Game #2: Raymore and Wawota tie 4-4 in Raymore - The game was tied 1-1 after the 1st period and 2-2 after the 2nd period. Raymore took a 3-2 lead early into the 3rd period. Wawota tied the game at 3-3 with 2:11 remaining, then took a 4-3 lead with 1:31 left in the game to trail the series by only a goal. However, Raymore scored just 20 seconds later to tie the game 4-4 and win the series 8-6.

PROVINCIAL 'C' - Theodore defeats Carlyle 14-6, Carlyle eliminated from provincials

Game #1: Carlyle wins 4-2 in Carlyle - HIGHLIGHTS/RECAP

Game #2: Theodore wins 12-4 in Theodore - Theodore led 2-1 after the 1st period, then the Buffaloes took control of the series in the 2nd period by scoring six goals to lead 8-3. Theodore scored four more times in the final period to win 12-4 and take the series 14-6.
