The explosive start to the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins season has now gained some national attention.

After the Bruins dismantled the Flin Flon Bombers on Sunday night 7-3, the 10-2-1 Viterra Division leading Bruins woke up on Monday morning ranked 17th in the latest edition of the Canadian Junior Hockey Leagues weekly top 20 rankings.

The Bruins have yet to lose at Affinity Place and are scoring at an absurd pace with 69 goals through 13 games, for an average of 5.3 goals for per game.

Five of the top ten scoring leaders in the SJHL hail from the Bruins with third year forward Zach Goberis leading the way. Through the first 13 games, the league leading Colorado product has scored 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points. His linemate Michael McChesney has been no slouch either, with 11 goals and 12 assists of his own to sit second in the league. Click here to view the SJHL scoring leaderboard.

The Bruins will see a stiffer test on Friday night when they welcome the Nipawin Hawks to Affinity Place for the first time this season. Their four game home stand will then wrap up on Saturday night with the Yorkton Terriers in town. Both games get underway at 7:30.
