A big second end propelled Team Gushue over Team Koe in Draw 9 at the Home Hardware Canada Cup. Gushue took 4 in the 2nd end to go up 4-1. But then Koe rallied scoring 2 in the 4th, by the end of the 5th, the score was 5-6. After the 5th end break, Team Gushue went back to work, stole one in the 7th and ended up with the 11-6 final in 9 ends.

"We're in the semi-finals," said a happy and relieved Brad Gushue.

Team Dunstone fell 7-5 to Team Epping

"After our loss yesterday, it looked like we were going to play our way through tiebreakers if today didn't go as well as it did but it went perfect and we got to go right to the semis."

It may be been the 2nd end that saw the 4 points, but perhaps, even more important was the 6th end when Gushue scored 2.

"It's key. This five rock rule, even though you get 4, you're never looking pretty and he even had a shot in the 7th end to tie the game and he jammed it and we got a steal. That kind of put the game away, that was the big end because if he makes it, we're tied up."

"There were a lot of really good shots. A couple of mistakes obviously, I made a couple in 7 and Kevin made a mistake in his last one in 7 but there were some really nice shots, some good runbacks, and some good draws. it was a fun game, I thought it was well played."

Meanwhile, the rink from Regina, Team Dunstone will be heading home with a 1-5 record. But that didn't stop the crowd from showing their support. The team took some time to sign autographs for their fans.

"It's awesome. Every time we've come in and out of the arena, people have stopped to say hi and wish us luck and chat, so that's been awesome. Anytime you get to play in front of your home province, it's pretty good."
