Redvers @ Carnduff, Carnduff leads series 2-1

Starting off in the first period, the Redvers Rockets would start off by applying major pressure to the home team for the first four minutes or so, but to no avail. From there, the period would go to a more to even tone between both teams, and the first goal would come down to the first mistake.

Carnduff would make that mistake in the offensive zone of all places when a pass intended to bank off the boards instead banked off Brady Gaudet's skates. The defenseman would streak up the right side of the ice on a 2-on-1 that was quickly becoming a 2-on-2 from the backchecker, but rather than worry about a fancy play, he just blasted a rocket of a shot past the league's leading goaltender Cody Dumaine for the 1-0 score 10:02 in.

The Rockets would take a penalty 12 seconds later, and on that powerplay, the Red Devils would get a chance on the rush, a 3-on-1 as Brandon Trask brought the puck down the left side, and he tried a centering pass for Trevor Geiger, but instead hit a stick. He'd get his own pass back as Rocket's goaltender Thomas Bauche slid across to follow the first pass, leaving a wide-open net for Trask to slam home.

After one, 1-1 thanks to a goal from each team halfway through the period.

In the second, the Red Devils would strike first in the offensive shootout as Mark Moriarty would get a chance for his team, bringing the puck down the left side to rip one passed Bauche about five minutes in.

Then, at the halfway mark of the period again, the Rockets would answer after a scrambled play sent the puck into the corner. Jordan Miller would scoop up the puck with room to move, but instead would fire a shot from behind the net that struck Dumaine in the back and the puck dropped behind him. In the scramble, either Dumaine's skate kicked it in, or Kenton Miller managed to poke the puck home, and the scoresheet would show Kenton got the goal, but either way, it's tied up.

The Red Devils would get another powerplay chance later in the period, and Blake McMillen would get control of the puck at the blue line and fire it through a screen and to the net. Bauche would make the initial save, but the rebound would find the stick of Devon Carriere, and he threw it into the open net to retake the lead.

The Rockets would continue to battle back though thanks to another play from behind the net from Jordan Miller. He'd bring the puck down the left side of the ice and drop a perfect behind the back pass to Kenton Miller, and this time it was no-doubt he blasted the puck in with half an inch of room between the post and the pad.

After two, 3-3 after a back and forth period.

The third period would tighten up defensively compared to the first two. Powerplay after powerplay would go by, and some on calls you wouldn't expect to see in the playoffs, but no one could break the tie until about eight minutes left in the game. Sheldon Thompson would get control of the puck in the offensive zone for the Red Devils, and he'd carry the puck down the left side of the ice and get pushed into the corner. Then, he broke free and carried it behind the net and tried a pass in front that pinballed around in the slot. He followed the puck up to the top of the circle and whacked a hope shot towards the net, and his prayer was answered as it hit the back of the net, 4-3 with eight minutes to go.

Crunch time for the Rockets, and they looked like they felt the pressure. The remaining eight minutes would see shot after shot, chance after chance go by, but the Rockets could not get anything to go by Dumaine, including a breakaway from Kenton Miller that he rang off the crossbar. 1:54 left, the Red Devils would take a penalty, but the Rockets would take their own penalty six seconds later.

4-on-4 to finish the game, the Rockets would press, but the Red Devils would send the puck down the length of the ice and hit the post. Nine seconds left, the Rockets would get back into the zone, but Justin Perry would get control behind the net, press the puck up between his skates and the boards, and secure the victory for the Red Devils.

FINAL SCORE: Carnduff 4 - 3 Redvers, Carnduff takes the series 3-1

Carnduff takes the revenge series win over the Redvers Rockets, who swept them in the final round of the Big Six playoffs the year before. Trevor Geiger still leads the playoffs in points, despite being held pointless in the game.

Bienfait @ Yellow Grass, Series tied 1-1

Two words describe this game. Offensive. Shootout. At the one minute mark, the game was already tied at one. 31 seconds in, the Coalers get the first lead of the game thanks to Matt Bourassa, but Devon Cobbold took it right back 29 seconds later for the Wheat Kings.

From there, the game would tighten up for the next nine minutes before the Wheat Kings would take their first lead of the game. Cole Rooney would get the go-ahead goal that would stand for a while.

Bienfait would come back the other way and Blaine Herzberg, who had a quiet night on the scoresheet the night before but was a difference maker whenever he came on the ice, managed to fire one in to tie the game at two.

The tie would not last long, exactly thirty seconds, and Zach Watson would score from the point to retake the lead with 3:28 left in the period.

The period would not end that way, however, as the league's leading scorer in the regular season Dylan Herzberg would score his first of the game and tie things up before the end of the game.

After one: 3-3

The Coalers would retake the lead almost as quickly as they got it in the first, a quick goal from Dallas Kickley started off the period for the team down in the series.

The Coalers would score their fifth goal of the game before the halfway point of the second, the second of the night for Dylan Herzberg. as a result, the Wheat Kings would pull Tanner Erickson out of the net and Terrick Wilderman would come in for the relief appearance.

After two: 5-3 Bienfait

In the third period, the goaltending switch would prove to be the correct decision as Wilderman would hold the fort down for the first half of the period, and his team would help him out up front.

At the ten minute mark, Brandt Hudson would make it a one goal game for the Wheat Kings, and with 10:03 to go and one of the highest powered offences in the league, it was plenty of time for the home team to tie it up and defend their undefeated record at home.

With only 5:35 left in the game, the Wheat Kings would please their fans and tie things up thanks to the heroics of Tucker Neuberger. Wheat Kings come back from a two goal deficit after a goalie change and tie it up for overtime.

After three: All square at 5.

Throughout the entire game, only three penalties were called, an interference halfway through the second on Zach Watson of Yellow Grass, and two offsetting roughing minors in the third period. The overtime period would stay just as clean, tight checking hockey, but finally the tie would be broken.

31 seconds left in the game and the puck would find its way on to the stick of Devon Cobbold once again, and he'd tuck it past Jackson Walliser for the sixth and final goal of the game for the Wheat Kings.

FINAL SCORE: Yellow Grass 6 - 5 Bienfait (OT), Yellow Grass leads the series 2-1

The Wheat Kings have now won 13 straight games at home and still have one left in the series if the Coalers look to come back and take the victory. Game four will be at 8pm Saturday night.
