The Century 21 Estevan Peewee Chargers came oh so close in Moose Jaw on Saturday, as they dropped a 6-0 decision to the Moose Jaw Mustangs. Head Coach Jason Bresciani was pleased to see major improvements from the previous week where his young team took a 50-6 drubbing at the hands of the Moose Jaw Vikings.

"Both teams were pretty much equal," Bresciani explained. "Our kids had a massive improvement from the first week and the kids executed well from both sides of the ball."

"We made quite a few tackles for losses and a big goal line stop. We added an interception, for the most part the Defense we played really well.

Just like the Chargers did to the Mustangs, the team from Moose Jaw was able to make a key stop on defense.

"Offensively, Rylan Hansen had a huge 45 yard run down to their one yard line. They stuffed us three times and we turned the ball over on their one late in the game."

The head coach is now focused on their next opponent in which he is expecting a tough match up when they take on the Weyburn Eagles on Saturday.

"We're just going to keep working, its not going to be an easy contest. Hopefully the kids can turn it up and feel the rivalry but as long as we improve it will be a fun week," he concluded.

Saturday, September 16th will see the Chargers travel to Weyburn to take on the Eagles with kick off set for 2:30 at the Weyburn High School Field.
