The Candance Chisholm rink may have gotten off to a slow start at the Provincial Scotties in Melfort, but they quickly turned things around on Wednesday.

The team, which curls out of Carlyle, features skip Candace Chisholm (Weyburn), with third Lana Vey (Regina), second Natalie Bloomfield (Carlyle) and lead Kristy Johnson (Estevan).

After dropping their opening game 6-4 to the Anderson Rink on Tuesday, the ladies would enter play on Wednesday with some extra motivation. In the morning draw, it would take extra ends for the Silvernagle rink out of North Battleford to overcome the ladies from the south east. A single point in the 11th end would put the icing on the cake, and end the game 7-6.

The Chisholm rink was able to find their groove during their second game on Wednesday against the Barker rink from Moose Jaw. After putting up a three spot in the 1st end, they would add a single in the 5th and put up a deuces in ends 3 and 8 to grab their first win at the Scotties by a score of 8-6.

After 4 ends in the evening draw, team Chisholm held a 4-0 lead over Regina's Ashley Howard. Howard would respond in the 5th to cut the lead in half at 4-2. After a blank 6th end, Chisholm would add one in the 7th, before Howard would tie the game at 5-5 in the 8th end. Chisholm found a way to score three of her own in the ninth end, to take a 8-5 lead. Howard would concede and the Chisholm rink would improve their record to 2-2.

Team Chisholm returns to action on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 against team Holland.
