The accolades continue to roll in for 17-year-old Cole Fonstad.

On Wednesday afternoon, Fonstad was named to the Canadian Hockey League's Top Prospect game which will be held in Guelph, Ontario on January 25th. 40 players from across the Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League will compete in the CHL's 23rd annual showcase.

The Estevan native is one of nine players from the WHL to be chosen by NHL Central Scouting. Through 32 games this season with the Prince Albert Raiders, Fonstad has scored 11 goals and 28 assists, smashing his totals from last season when he scored 11 goals and 15 assists, in 69 games during his rookie campaign.

As of Wednesday, Fontsad sits in a tie for 20th in league scoring which makes him the top scoring 2000 born player in the WHL.

In 23 years of the Top Prospects Game, the showcase has featured the likes of Connor McDavid, Steven Stamkos, Patrick Kane, John Tavares and Nathan MacKinnon.
