The Estevan Curling Club will be among the local organizations looking for new blood to join their membership when City Wide Registration gets underway Thursday evening.

"We're taking registration for our Coop Kids program on Sundays, children that are from K to grade 5. We will also be offering youth curling, and that will be grades 6 and up, that's going to be Tuesday evenings. We are also going to be taking registration if individuals want information on the other leagues, I can help them out with that too," shared Club Manager Pauline Ziehl-Grimsrude.

"For our Coop Kids program, we typically limit how many children we can have at a time, based on ice availability and instructors, so we suggest that you come early to register your children. We're looking at 16-18 kids in each of those groups. We have room for approximately 20 in our Youth program."

She added that last year's numbers were down a little on the youth side, but the kids program was full. However, the amount of participants is limited due to the number of rocks and such available.

Instructors and volunteers are also always welcome for the Club, and interested parties will find more information at the registration table.

"As far as the Youth are concerned this year, we're going to be having two camps, one in November and one in the new year, that will be incorporated with our youth bonspiel. That's exciting for us, to have that," said Ziehl-Grimsrude, noting that there will also be opportunities to take part in the Home Hardware Canada Cup.

Other activities for the Club in the coming season will include facilitating the ECS curlers, as well as providing support for the national curling event at Affinity Place.

City Wide Registration gets underway Thursday night at 5:30 PM in the Multi Purpose Room in the Leisure Center.
