It's going to be a busy season at the Estevan Curling Club.

"We've been working for the last month putting our ice in," shared Pauline Zeihl-Grimsrud with the club. "It's going well and we're excited. We're going to be curling come next Monday."

There are weekly leagues as well as kids and youth leagues.

"We have a packed season."

"We love to have our youth out. We start with kids in kindergarten right up to Grade 12. Our program on Sundays with the Co-op kids has been very popular over the years and continues to be popular this season."

"It's very much a learn to curl situation for the kids. they do get playing time too so we're really excited about that."

The kids league starts on October 28th.

A day camp is also in the works for November 25th with CurlSask.

"We're going to have a 7 hour camp with kids ages 10-18."

As well, there is a new league this season stemming from a new sport in the Olympics.

"I hope everyone watched the curling at the last Olympics. the mixed doubles, which is relatively new to the Canadian viewer and player but has been very popular and is growing across the world. And the curling club here, we've decided that we're going to have a doubles league. It will be on Tuesday evenings."

She added that while it's typically called mixed doubles, one male, one female curler, the curling club has decided that the doubles will be made up of either both men, both female, or mixed.
