It came down to an oh-so-close moment for the ECS Elecs Senior Boys over the weekend.

Competing in 5A Volleyball Regionals in Weyburn, they got the series off by sweeping Weyburn on Friday. Saturday saw them fall 2 sets to none to Swift Current and then a 2-1 win over Moose Jaw Central.

Taking on Weyburn again in the playoffs, they took 2 of three sets to advance against Balgonie, where they lost 2 straight. That placed them in a match up for third place against Yorkton, where they dropped 2 of three to finish fourth, just missing a spot at provincials.

At the 5A Girls Volleyball Regionals, meanwhile, the Elecs Senior Girls struggled to make it far in the playoffs.

They started with a 2-1 sets loss on Friday to Moose Jaw Vanier, before sweeping Moose Jaw Central in 2 to start Saturday. They were then swept themselves by Weyburn in their pool, and by Swift Current in the first round of playoffs to bring their provincial bid to an early end.
