The ECS Elecs opened their regular season with a loss on Friday in Moose Jaw, however, it wasn't without giving their opponents a scare first.

Taking on the Peacock Tornadoes, they got ahead early but eventually fell 36-12.

"We started out really well. We got a 6-0 lead early in the first quarter. We forced five turnovers in the first half with our defense. The score at halftime was 9-6 for Peacock. The second half, we came out strong and moved the ball well. Unfortunately, we had a few key players go down with injuries and we had to make some personnel adjustments. Then it was a combination of things, we ran out of gas and Peacock started to make big plays, and they were able to put up some more points," shared Head Coach Mark Schott.

"Our guys played really hard, it was definitely a learning experience for us, going up against one of the top programs in the province. I think we showed that we can play with them and we should be able to play with pretty much anybody in this league."

The Elecs return to practice Monday to prepare to meet the Vanier Vikings on Tuesday, September 18th.
