The ECS Elecs football team wrapped up their season on Saturday in Swift Current. And despite not playing at full strength, Head Coach, Mark Shott, was still pleased with the effort from his player.

"We went to Swift Current with 21 players," he shared. "We were missing about half our team due to various commitments and conflicts. The 21 we went with, it didn't let it get them down. They played hard the whole game."

He added they made some big plays on defense and offense.

"Unfortunately, Swift Current made more big plays and they're a really good football team."

Swift Current came away with the 69-22 win over the Elecs.

In addition to missing players, there were also several who were dealing with injuries.

"It definitely played a role. We ended up having a whole bunch of our players playing on both offense and defense for the whole game on Saturday. With 21 players, it was out of necessity that we had to do that. And we were missing some key players for us due to injuries and some other conflicts. It was unfortunate that the timing of those events and injuries were the way that they were."

"The injuries were really something that we battled with all season. It was a tough and frustrating season in the sense that we have a lot of talent on the team it was just rare that we were able to have that talent available to us at the same time. The one time we were relatively healthy, we came away with the win against Vanier."

He added that he was proud of the effort given by his players the entire game.
